About
Jamie Collins, Ph.D.
I believe teaching is our response to how we see the world, what we believe about the world, and who we become as a result. I am person of deep faith and personal conviction. I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
I am an Assistant Professor of Literacy and Education at John Brown University. I earned a doctorate from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Arts from Teachers College Columbia University. I began my formal teaching career in public high school with 10th,11th and 12th grade students. We explored writing and American, British, and World Literature.
I seek to understand the inbetween and intersecting spaces of the Christian faith, culture, education, and literacy. I seek to support educators and disrupt our assumptions around the system education.
